The fiat 600R was a product of the Argentinian factory desgined for the important SouthAmerican market. Devoid of wheel hubcaps and bright body mouldings, adummy air-intake adorned the front panel and a fender attached to the bumpers provided protection to the lights and lower bodywork. The R version received a power advantage over previous 600S, the 767cc engine was extended to 797cc with an output of 36bhp to match. The Argentinian 600 emerged as the country's most popular car and in the years between 1959 and 1971 nearly 167.000 units were delivered. The contract to assemble cars in Argentine came into effect during 1960 and lasted well into the '70s.
